Peter Nouwens was born in the outback of Queensland, Australia, in 1959. Of Dutch descent, he moved to England with his young family in 1996 and lives now in Warwick, Warwickshire.
He became a Formula 1, and motor racing fan at the age of 5 when the Tasman Series (Formula 5000) started in Australia and New Zealand in 1964. Imagine his joy in 1966 when Jack Brabham won his 3rd World Championship and Australia went mad! In those days, news and
broadcasts down under were few and far between, so he kept up with the seasons the best he could. He followed local racing, never missed the Bathurst 500/1000 and got to the Warwick Farm track in Sydney whenever he could.
Since 1996 he’s been a part of the F1 community in the Northern Hemisphere, relishes being so close to it, and stills loves every minute of it.
His new book series 75 YEARS OF THE PODIUM, was written to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Formula 1 World Championship. In it, he tells the story of the 3 driver’s race to the podium of every round of every year of every decade of the sport.
Professionally, Peter is a Product Manager in the digital space, with many years’ experience in business-to-business and business-to-consumer products and systems in government and private enterprise, locally and globally.
Peter has been involved in performance arts for 43 years and has directed, designed, written or appeared in close to 40 productions, in Australia or the UK. He has won nominations and awards for his works as a writer.
His passions also include, amongst many other things, literature, performance art, science fiction, the natural sciences and all things creative. He is a car modeller with, currently, 37 classic, sports, racing, super and vintage cars in his collection.
His plans for future series promise great racing content for motor racing fans across the globe.
